We publish our daily rating at 5pm the afternoon before the sunrise. This gives you plenty of time to make bike or bus tour plans.
What we do is far more than just your average weather report. Predicting the weather at the summit is just the beginning. We also look at the higher clouds - their motion, altitudes and coverage - to forecast tomorrow's sunrise as it's likely to occur in the hearts of those at the summit. Too many or too few clouds at certain heights make all the difference, and there's no substitute for experience in being able to discern the difference between an average "3" and a spectacular "5".
We have been predicting the sunrise longer and more accurately than anyone. Don't wake up early, drive for hours, and pay for gas and park entrance fees only to be disappointed by fog or rain.
